Traditionally, nature abhors letting opposites mingle with each other. Cats must hate dogs, apples detest oranges, Trekkies cannot enjoy the “Wars”. Obviously these absolutes do not always dictate reality, though they are often perceived that way none-the-less. Another paradoxical term long believed by many to be true is the sport-loving nerd. I can here the thoughts now, “Blasphemy!”, “Sacrilege!”, “False Prophet!”. But, my friends, I am here to tell you that sometimes, this can exist. Barriers all over the world are falling every day. Human being are no longer necessarily cool or uncool, jock or geek, plumber or scientist. It is possible to be from both worlds, now more than ever. If “Revenge of the Nerds” has taught me anything, it’s that we are all nerds in some way, and even guys like Fred “The Ogre” Palowakski can see the light.

However you managed to get here, welcome!

Little about me: My main claim to geek/nerd culture is my long time affinity and expertise in comics. Their histories, their characters, their business, their art, all things comics. I’m also interested in most things Star Wars, Star Trek, video games, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and just about anything else you can use to correlate to our fantastic world.

In this blog, which I’m hoping to update on a half regular basis, I will discuss my opinions on many long time (and also little known) debates in our community, and strongly encourage anyone watching or reading to weigh in with their own opinions, arguments, counter arguments, questions, comments, criticisms, or threats (keep it light on the threats though, my pride bruises like a peach).

Thanks for stopping in, please subscribe, and check back often, as I’m hoping for us to have a wicked ride through this thing!
